Fall Fungi Bioblitz

Help learn about and document biodiversity of fungi in the Cape Perpetua area, using iNaturalist, with a passionate & knowledgeable guide.
Join your guide, Jamie Kish, for a beginners tour, where you will learn how to use iNaturalist and all about the fungi basics, getting into the forests and feeling comfortable with fungi. 😍
Topics that would get covered include:
- iNaturalist & biodiversity
- Fungi Basics
- Mycelium networks
- Fruiting body anatomy
- PNW fungi varieties
- Spore prints
- ID how-to’s
- Foraging etiquette
- Species specific habitats and relationships with trees
- Edibles vs non edibles/other uses for Fungi such as dying fabrics
Plan for the tour to be about 3hrs, depending on interest and what you find. At the end of the tour, your guide will setup a table where you can flat lay all the species collected.
This guided bioblitz fungi tour is limited to 8 people. You will receive a confirmation email with your meeting location and any additional details you may need to prepare.
