November 9, 2019 | 11:00 am - 12:00 pm PST

Cape Perpetua Fall Speaker Series – Presentations begin at 11:00am

Those washed up clumps on the beach, what’s their story? Sara Hamilton will discuss what kelps are, why they are important to coastal ecosystems, and how kelps worldwide are responding to climate change. Additionally, she’ll also share insights about the state of the bull kelp forests here in Oregon based on 35 years of population data gathered from satellite imagery.

***Parking & seating limited. Please plan accordingly.

The event is free, but a Northwest Forest Pass, Oregon Coast Passport, federal recreation pass, or $5 day-use fee is required within the Cape Perpetua Scenic Area and at some trailheads and day use sites.
