Tidepool Ambassador Tour – Yachats State Park
August 27 | 7:00 am - 10:00 am PDT
Explore and learn about the tidepools of the Cape Perpetua Marine Reserve during the lowest tides of the year!
Join us to experience and explore the incredible tidepools of the Cape Perpetua Marine Reserve, a world only seen at low tide! Our local Cape Perpetua Tidepool Ambassador Guides are looking forward to leading you around this hidden world during the lowest tides of 2022!
These are small group (5 people per tour) educational and interactive tours where you can learn about tidepools and the species that live there. Every tour is as unique as every tidepool. You will have at least one hour of guided exploration with your guide. Then you are invited to continue exploring with your guide or explore the tidepools on your own. You will see the common inhabitants species such as anemones and urchins but you get lucky with an octopus or nudibranch!
Volunteer Tidepool Ambassadors will also be stationed at a table near the parking lot of Bob Creek and Yachats State Park during tour hours. Ambassadors will have tidepool identification guides (provided in Spanish and English) as well as other information and handouts. If you aren’t able to make a tour, chatting with the Ambassador is a great resource for self-guided tidepool exploration.
Tours are scheduled around the minus tides in the Summer. Tours are free but reservations are required.
Tour details, what to bring, etc. will be sent in a confirmation email once registration is finalized.
Tours are free however donations are much appreciated, but never expected. Donations can be made in person with your guide or volunteer ambassador or online at this link.
